This year your child’s school is participating in the SOS Signs of Suicide program. On Sept. 16 & 17, 9th graders watch a short, age-appropriate video and join a guided discussion where they learn to ACT — and that the trusted adult they turn to could be you.

As we begin this school year, I want to emphasize one of the most important factors in student success is being at school every day and being ready to learn before the 8:20 a.m. bell. Please help your student establish a morning routine that allows them to arrive on campus, get to class, and be ready to learn before 8:20 a.m.

This year's focus shifted to impactful, project-based work aligned with instruction and community needs.

Aurora Public Schools currently has 16 teachers working on J-1 visas, 11 of them at Aurora Central.

Since 2009, the city of Aurora has honored one student from each grade in every school building in Aurora for being overall first-rate students and excellent members of the school community.

For the first time in more than 15 years, Aurora Central has made enough improvement to earn a state performance rating of “Improvement” status!
